Square Roots Productions presents…

DAN EVANS, Britain’s leading dulcimer player, has released five critically acclaimed CDs and undertaken 15 international tours, often to the USA where he is best known and where he met Jean Ritchie, the celebrated dulcimer player and song collector regarded as “the mother of folk”. He plays with delicacy and precision and presents a folk-based repertoire of songs and airs from both America and the British Isles arranged and performed with a spoonful of English humour.

Support from VIRGINIA THORN, a classically trained singer-songwriter with Argentine roots whose influences include music from South and North America, in particular the New York folk revival. In her twenties, she made a pilgrimage to Greenwich Village and the coffee shops where Bob Dylan, Joan Baez et al once played. Her debut album, ‘How Shall We Say Goodbye?’ has just been released.

Established in 2015, SQUARE ROOTS PRODUCTIONS is a charity dedicated to the creation of landmark events and projects that recognise, promote and celebrate folk music heritage – the people, the places, the history – and in so doing create a legacy for future generations.
