Before Django Reinhardt, there was Carl Kress, Dick McDonough and the peerless ‘Father of Jazz Guitar’, Eddie Lang.

Danzon are a guitar duo based in London playing the work of the great 1930s-40s jazz and blues guitarists Eddie Lang, Carl Kress, Dick McDonough, George Barnes, and Lonnie Johnson.

More than 80 years after this crucial time in the development of jazz guitar, Danzon are rediscovering and reinvigorating this forgotten art form with newly transcribed interpretations of the original recordings. Though Danzon tip a respectful hat to the performance style of this by-gone era, they inject their own energy into the music by staying true to the everlasting mission statement of all jazz music, improvisation.

Danzon are Jonny McCourt and Ramon Goose.
