FRAN & FLORA: This new collaboration between virtuoso violinist Flora Curzon and folk/experimental cellist Francesca Ter-Berg combines aspects of traditional string music from Eastern Europe with original compositions and experimental electronics. Having performed with Talvin Singh, Sam Lee, Hejira, Floating Points, Jocelyn Pook, Dunajska Kapelye and the London Klezmer Quartet, this new project brings Fran and Flora’s shared love of Klezmer, Transylvanian music, melodic lyricism, groove and improvisation together. Influenced by Klezmer and other Eastern European folk and gypsy music, Fran and Flora combine these traditions with their own unique arrangement style to create a sound that is both timeless and contemporary.
