MILE TWELVE: Mile Twelve is an award-winning young American band, beautifully walking the line between contemporary and traditional bluegrass and acoustic roots. Fast gaining recognition for their outstanding performances in the USA, Mile Twelve has been on a swift rise since the band’s formation in Boston in late 2014, where three of the five members studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Mile Twelve has performed extensively across the USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia, and the band won the 2017 Momentum Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). Two members, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes (fiddle) and David Benedict (mandolin) were further recognised with Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year Awards at this year’s IBMA event in September 2018. In late 2017 the band released their debut full-length album “Onwards”. Featuring mostly original compositions, the release draws on a range of diverse influences and includes captivating songs and adventurous instrumentals. Spring 2019 will see Mile Twelve embark on their much-anticipated debut tour of the UK.
“Five accomplished bluegrass musicians who write, sing, and play like the wind – serious players who have serious fun. Mile Twelve is a group to watch in the coming decade!” Tim O’Brien
