This month featuring…. Sofia B + Uri + Laura Oakes

SOFIA B
Sofia B is a pop/folk singer from London, with retro stripped down yet lush melodies, warm vocals, and brooding, forlorn lyrics, which will have you singing along long after the song is done. The proudly out androgynous singer is half Lebanese and half Venezuelan and takes inspiration from her life’s experiences for her music.

U.R.I.
Originally from Tel-Aviv, Uri moved to London 2 years ago after winning the Shure songwriting award, which was judged by Frank Turner that year. Since then, he has been developing his indie folk-rock sound, adding in more electronic influences to his delicate songs.

U.R.I cites an eclectic range of musical influences, from classic songwriters such as Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith and Nick Drake, to current artist such as Bon Iver, Bjork and St. Vincent. This is reflected in the diversity of his debut E.P. Black Flag, released on October 2015, which was produced by Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Ghostpet) and Orel Tamuz.

LAURA OAKES
Laura Oakes, the BCMA’s Female Vocalist of the year 2015, is a British Country Music Artist hailing from Liverpool. She released her debut, Self-Titled EP in the summer of 2015 receiving fantastic support from BBC radio right across the UK, with Bob Harris including a track in his Best of 2015 retrospective on BBC Radio 2, and Chris Country and Amazing Radio also championing her work.
