DANIEL CAINER: Join multi-award winning master songwriter Daniel Cainer for another evening of his unique story-songs. Daniel’s songs are clever, funny, joyful, emotional, very melodic and have much to say about the current state of the world and the human condition. They’ve been sung by actors, folk and cabaret artists and rabbis whilst his musical compositions, scores and jingles have been used used in many TV dramas, documentaries and podcasts. He has played all over the world, including six off-Broadway runs in New York and 16 Edinburgh Fringes. He’s been the ‘Singing Reporter’ on radio and TV and the world’s only ‘Singing Astrologer’ (probably). Daniel’s musical roots are in the folk world. He had his first folk-club residency when he was 14 and would have won the Folk News Search for he stars of the 1980’s competition had it not taken place at 9:00 am in the morning. More recently he’s guested with two North American folk-legends: Christine Lavin and Bob Bossin. Christine says he’s probably the finest songwriter (called Daniel Cainer working today. Daniel’s son Oscar is the Green Note’s much lauded Head of Sound and Oscar will be on-hand to make sure his father is seen but not necessarily heard (much as he was treated as a child).
