LUCY MELLENFIELD: Lucy Mellenfield is a Birmingham-based singer-songwriter originating from Hertfordshire. Her 2019 debut single, Tournesols, was described by Voice FM as a ‘monumental debut single; one of those rare songs that makes you feel nostalgic for something you can’t even recall’. Her writing reflects her constantly evolving musical influences, namely in the sphere of jazz, folk, singer-songwriter, and alternative genres.

Since graduating from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in June 2022, Lucy has performed her songs at various Birmingham music venues, while also stretching to Cheltenham Jazz Festival in April 2023 and playing two sold out shows at Green Note. She is joined by a group of highly talented Birmingham-based jazz musicians.

Lucy will be playing a programme of songs old and new, including tracks from her EP ‘In My Short Time’ and unreleased material from her highly anticipated new record. Tom Henery (guitar) and Josh Vadiveloo (double bass) will be joining her for this intimate show.

You will also hear songs from her project ‘Songs of the Understory’ performed alongside trumpeter and composer, Neil Yates. These compositions were specially commissioned for her performance at the West Midlands Jazz Central Festival in September 2023.

Doors open 7.30pm, Music starts 8pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
