ADJOA: Tonight we welcome Twi Tribal Soul artist Adjoa for her debut Green Note performance, celebrating the forthcoming release of her new ‘Adinkra’ EP.

Adjoa’s new EP is based on the theme of the Adinkra symbols of the Akan tribe of Ghana, her heritage. Born in the UK to Ghanaian parents, Adjoa creates her own style, by mixing her frankly fabulous soul vocals with chants, mostly in the Ghanaian language of Twi, and vibrant traditional African rhythms of Ghana. Her gorgeous songs and the infectious energy of her musicians create music with great style.

Adjoa has played live at venues including Somerset House, the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and on the renowned Notting Hill Carnival World Music Stage. She has performed at massive venues & key events including London’s City Hall for the 50th anniversary of Ghanaian Independence, and with the London Community Gospel Choir and the Philharmonic Orchestra for the UNHCR. Adjoa has been featured on BBC Radio, Jazz FM, Voxafrica TV, and live on London Live TV.

Adjoa’s set will include beautiful originals that have won critical acclaim, in the Ghanaian language of Twi and in English, and gorgeous Ghanaian highlife and folk music. She will also feature her unique take on timeless soul, and favourites from African artists including Osibisa and Miriam Makeba.

Treat yourself to a very special evening celebrating Adjoa’s acclaimed new ‘Adinkra’ EP.
