Jazz @ Green Note presents… Sam Watts Band
This group formed in 2012 to play original compositions as well as traditional music from different parts of the world. The music combines many musical influences and styles, from jazz to tango, classical music, old film scores and chaotic noise into a cinematic and accessible musical project. Particular musical influences include Tom Waits, Arvo Pärt, Astor Piazzolla, and Duke Ellington amongst others. The music has been described as emotionally engaging, entertaining, anD evocative. The band has performed live at many prestigious venues in London and has appeared at the BBC proms and been broadcast on Radio 3, playing all original compositions. They have recently recorded their first album, preparing for release in late 2015.
