MY GIRL THE RIVER: American expat My Girl The River aka Kris Wilkinson Hughes brings a multi-genre blend to the table. Lyrics and melodies that stick, her latest album, Cardinal in the Snow, (produced by Neilson Hubbard) received 8/10 from AmericanaUK calling it ‘Nashville meets southern gothic’. With a voice ‘like sugared espresso, My Girl The River’s songwriting has been compared to Jason Isbell, Lucinda, and Brandi Carlile. She has toured with Suzanne Vega and played shows with Kim Richey, David Olney, Will Kimbrough and Jonathan Byrd, to name but a few. Kris is also the founder of the ARC Songwriter Tour with Kate Ellis and Anna Howie.
Scot Sax knows his way around a song. He has been writing them for years, whether it was with his own bands Wanderlust (RCA) and Feel (Curb), or as a purveyor of hits for singers like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. It was Sax, in fact, who co-wrote the country duo’s Grammy-winning smash “Like We Never Loved At All.” His catchy “I Am the Summertime,” penned while with the band Bachelor Number One, was featured in the blockbuster “American Pie.” And he’s netted countless TV credits, with song placements in shows like “Ghost Whisperer,” “NCIS,” “CSI: NY” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
