Sylvie Simmons is a bit of a legend. Leaving London as a kid in the late Seventies to be a rock writer, in L.A ,she’s been writing about music ever since. The subjects of her books range from Serge Gainsbourg to Debbie Harry to Leonard Cohen. As Cohen’s chosen biographer, Sylvie wrote ‘I’m Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen’ . When it was done, she went on the road with her ukulele, singing his songs. Back in America she made an album of her own songs, ‘Sylvie’. The Guardian called it one of the most beautiful of the year. She followed it with ‘Blue On Blue’ and is working on a third.
