Embark on a musical journey with APHRA, a band blending genres to create captivating narratives. Originating from the vibrant, tight-knit Norwich music scene, Aphra initially delved into art-rock and post-punk, crafting dynamic compositions that challenged conventions. Evolving over time and maturing with age like a fine wine, their sound has recently transitioned into folk-driven melodies adorned with three-part harmonies, reflecting a deeper exploration of introspection and vulnerability. Drawing inspiration from classic 60s and 70s folk singers such as Judee Sill and Karen Dalton, Aphra infuses their music with timeless influences.

With a third EP released over the past year, showcasing both the old and new facets of Aphra’s songwriting, the band has sold-out grassroots music venues across the UK. Their tracks have earned praise from BBC Introducing, gaining traction as “track of the week.” Experienced festival performers, they’ve graced stages at Latitude, Sundown, and Mosely Folk Festival, while also supporting acts like Billie Marten and The Regrettes on tour. Currently, Aphra’s Green Note show promises the first glimpse of their debut album—an opportunity to witness an artist on the verge of bubbling over with creative energy.
