THE BASEMENT BAR

Sun 14th April 8:00pm
Book Tickets
£ 8.00

Free jazz is an approach to jazz improvisation that emerged during the late 1950s, the main characteristic being that there are no rules. Musicians do not adhere to a fixed harmonic structure (predetermined chord progressions) as they improvise; instead, they modulate (i.e. change keys) at will.

The magical combination of the atmospheric and dusky basement coupled with the free play of musical imagination… An acoustic free improvisation evening featuring some of the leading players on London’s thriving free jazz scene. A set of duo and trio performances of invited musicians, followed by a jam set open to musicians.

Tonight featuring Catch 22 TrioJake Rider (sax), Matt Taylor (guitar), Emil Karlsen (drums).
