HONEY BOULTON: Original feel good jazz for the 21st century.

For this special intimate performance Honey Boulton will be present an entire set of original music that is soon to be recorded for the upcoming album ‘Honey Plays Boulton’ as well as selections featured on his three previously released albums ‘Honey, ‘Portrait’, and ‘Les Charmants’. The quartet is comprised of Joe Webb on piano, Will Sach on bass and Will Cleasby on drums. The quartet brings the fire and energy of a large ensemble to the personal connection and spontaneity of a tight knit quartet.

Honey Boulton is a jazz guitarist and composer, specialising in swing and bebop music. Through his compositions Honey aims to capture the fire and spirit of the great African American art form, and apply it to the context of living and performing in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, while paying due respect to the tradition. His influences are made up of a long list of composers/artists, including Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Toshiko Akiyoshi etc.

Doors open 7.30pm. Music starts 8pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
