Folkroom run a monthly matinée series at Green Note with a chance to  catch up with established folk stars and discover new talents on the scene. Folkroom’s Green Note Matinées offer everyone an accessible and welcoming environment to discover folk music, with a family-friendly environment and acts of the highest calibre.

IONA LANE: Iona Lane is one of a new generation of folk musicians whose songs are as tied to the world around them as they are to the tradition and  lives of the people who share the land. Her debut album Hallival, out last year, was a rich and fertile record both in terms of ideas and promise for a career ahead. Folkroom is thrilled to bring Iona back to their stage, with a set that will mark her out as one of the folk
artists to watch in the coming few years.

Support from JACKEN ELSWYTH: Jacken Elswyth continues to reinvigorate the folk scene in Britain  with her bold and evocative banjo-led experimentation. Elswyth’s approach to the genre continues to dazzle, offering a mesmerising and  wholly enjoyable take on a corner of folk that might otherwise get  bogged down by self-righteous noodling. Instead, with warmth and  humour, Elswyth redefines what 21st century folk can be.
