James Brotherston cut his teeth as a pianist, bandleader and arranger as a student in Edinburgh before moving to London in 2006. His idiosyncratic, New Orleans-inflected piano and vocal style incorporates elements of James Booker, Fats Waller, Charles Brown and Amos Milburn. James can regularly be found playing gigs around the city with his band, JB’s Casual Vices, as well as playing occasional solo sessions.

James will be accompanied this evening by Nick Smith on sax.
