London based Blues harmonica player and front man, JD Harmo teams up with guitarist and singer Jo’ Buddy in a joint collaboration, combining their musical repertoire of authentic, and lowdown Blues and Rn’B.
Jo’ Buddy, recently arrived in the UK from Finland, is a long-standing veteran and troubadour of Blues and Roots music, with a career spanning 38 years and thousands of shows in 16 countries, he has worked with countless international artists. His laid back, raw music, is a rich and spicy Rock’n’Roll Gumbo.
Take it from Wilko Johnson (UK) “You’re the best I’ve seen for years” or Junior Watson (USA) “One of the best guitar players in the World today”. (for more info on Jo’ Buddy, visit www.ram-bam.com).
JD delivers a wailing, “big-tone”, amplified urban Blues sound, reminiscent of Little Walter and Big Walter Horton, or a lazy, soulful sound, in the spirit of Louisiana “swamp” Blues; a sincere and deep kind of Blues that sends back to the “Chess” label or “Excello” era.
Late Gary Moore put in his own words “You got the sound, you do it proper”.
JD was fortunate to perform in Denmark (2019 and 2020) with guitarist Ronni Boysen (of Mud Morganfield band, son of Muddy Waters) and has performed with a number of the UK’s finest Blues artists (Little Victor, Big Joe Louis, Little George Sueref, Chris Corcoran).
This mighty Blues “Combo” is backed by London’s finest rhythm section (drummer Rob Pokorny and double bass player Orlando Shearer).
The quartet will take you on a ride through the American musical heritage of Chicago Blues, Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi Blues, putting their own stamp on the styles of Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Lazy Lester and many many more.
