JULES HAY: British guitarist, Jules Hay, brings his second album, ‘Where Next?’ back from South America to the UK. Along with his debut album ‘From London to Little London.’ the album was recorded in Brazil bringing together infectious Brazilian grooves with a modern jazz fusion sensibility. Where Next? also brings in influences from Afrobeat, Latin Jazz, Reggae and Jazz Funk.
‘…this harmonious thinking and rhythmical characteristics are addictive, relaxing and life giving.’, jazz.sk
‘The melodic, harmonic and rhythmic conception of this music lies deep in the funky groove with subtle hints of the hip-swish that is characteristic of Brazilian rhythms.’ Latin Jazz Network.

What started out as a short-term recording project saw him stuck in South America for more than a year during the pandemic. The subsequent months spent hanging out, playing and recording with local musicians brings him full circle; Where Next? was recorded in Brazil and finished back in the UK, essentially documenting his journey home.

Joining Jules on stage will be:

Jordan White on keys
Indigo Pearce on bass
Michael Rothman on drums.

Jordan and Indigo are two of the most in demand, young session players on the London jazz/ funk and soul scene right now. Michael, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, originally from Rio de Janeiro, brings his innate sense of Brazilian rhythms to the Quartet.
