KITTY WHITELAW: Jazz vocalist Kitty Whitelaw returns to the Green Note with pianist Alex Bryson to celebrate the American Jazz vocalist, pianist and composer Blossom Dearie.
Blossom Dearie was born in 1924 New York and over the course of her life time became a celebrated international singer, pianist and composer. She was made famous with her Bebop Stylings and moving lyrical story telling.
For this performance Kitty and Alex will be paying homage and re-interpreting Jazz standards and her original tunes sung in English & French spanning from her entire career. Including classic tunes such as “Plus Je T’embrasse”, “Im Hip”, ”Tout Doucement”, “Long Daddy Green”… amongst others
Kitty Whitelaw is a Scottish jazz singer based in South London, a familiar name on the London jazz scene. She’s performed at numerous London Jazz Festival events and regularly collaborates with some of the city’s finest musicians.

Alexander Bryson is a leading British jazz pianist based in London. He has appeared at internationally prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Washington DC’s Blues Alley and the 606 Jazz Club, and at the Cork, Derry and London jazz festivals. A sought after sideman, he has worked with renowned jazz artists including Grant Stewart, Chris Cheek, Alex Garnett, Steve Fishwick, Ossian Roberts, Allison Neal, Benoit Viellefon and many others.

Doors open 7.30pm, Music starts 8pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
