A special triple-bill of soulful acoustic music and storytelling exploring transformation and connection. MATREYA – remembered as one of The X Factor’s most memorable contestants -makes his London debut under his new name, joined by atmospheric alt-pop artist BECCA JAMES and “deliciously soulful” (BBC) soul/blues troubadour SAMUEL ASHTON.

MATREYA: This unforgettable evening marks the London debut of Matreya- formerly known as Mason Noise, one of The X Factor’s most memorable and headline-making contestants. A decade since his last London performance, he returns transformed. Having stepped away from the industry to become a Reiki healer, he re-emerged earlier this year with his debut single Eagles. Featured on the cover of TPJL Magazine and praised as “an artist making a welcome return with an extraordinary new musical vision” (Plastic Magazine), his comeback has been described as “a statement of survival and spiritual awakening” (Earmilk) and “honest, soulful, and emotionally charged” (Birmingham World). BBC Introducing’s Theo Johnson also praised his music as “amazing.” With smooth, R&B-flavoured vocals, a signature falsetto, and a commanding stage presence, Matreya brings both intimacy and intensity to the stage.

BECCA JAMES: A London-based spiritual alt-pop artist, writer and co-producer, Becca creates immersive sonic worlds that weave together folk, electronic, and soul. Her debut album God in Chains (2025) — described by BBC Introducing’s Shakk as “not just embracing vulnerability, but turning it into a superpower” — is being released in sync with the moon phases, pairing rich production with visuals rooted in goddess archetypes. Clash Magazine praised her single Bloom as “dappled with light, recalling early Aurora, London Grammar, or Florence & The Machine at her spiritual best.”

SAMUEL ASHTON: Described as “deliciously soulful” by the BBC’s Leo Ulph, and praised for “soaring vocals that feel like a warm jumper keeping you safe from the cold” (Gigslutz), Samuel Ashton is a soul/blues troubadour whose voice has carried him to sold-out shows across the UK and airplay on the BBC, Europe, the US and Australia. His latest EP Breathe Easy shares a message of “stillness in the face of adversity.” Samuel has also been selected to represent the UK at the World Busking Championships in South Korea in 2025. He is currently recording with Grammy-winning engineer Ian Dowling while continuing to set stages alight with his captivating live performances.
