Whenever Canadian top gun Pierre Schryer chooses a playing partner for a project, you can bet it will be a crème de la crème pairing. With guitar maestro Adam Dobres by his side, they made a major impact around the world. RnR magazine said they were “a match made in roots heaven.”

Schryer has the knack of teaming up with the right kindred spirit to create something truly magical that will leave us in a spin.

For this latest visit to these shores, his musical playmate is another master musician, on the rise, and winning admiration through everything he touches.

Seán Gray has been wowing audiences too as a multi-talented force whose playing credits make impressive reading. As a member of the award-winning Paul McKenna Band, described by The New York Times as “the best folk band to have come out of Scotland in the last twenty years,” in 2017 he was commissioned to write a piece for the highly respected New Voices concert series at Celtic Connections. In demand as a session musician (he plays guitar, flute and whistle, and has a rich singing voice) he has also toured with a variety of top acts including The Outside Track and The Treacherous Orchestra.

Together they represent diverse and hugely successful musical careers laden with approval and award nominations.

Pierre Schryer is one of Canada’s leading traditional fiddlers. A recipient of numerous titles and awards including Canadian Open Fiddle Champion, Grand Masters Champion, Violoneux Championnat, and North American Irish Fiddle Champion, Pierre truly captivates an audience with his energy and genuine warmth. His ability knows no bounds, covering styles from Irish, Scottish, Québecois, and Cape Breton to Canadian Old Time, American Swing, and more.

Blazin’ Fiddles founder and former BBC folk show presenter, Bruce MacGregor describes Pierre as “absolutely sensational.” The pair have a full UK tour lined up including an appearance at the prestigious Blazin In Beauly festival.
