Roxanne de Bastion invites you to a celebration of Taylor Swift’s iconic Folklore album, marking the classic’s fifth anniversary. On July 24th 2020, Taylor Swift surprised the world with the release of her eighth studio album: written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic and produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, Folklore is the global superstar’s return to her acoustic roots and a stunning slice of singer songwriter magic.
Join us for this very special evening, where Roxanne de Bastion will perform the album in full together with guest appearances from some of London’s finest singer songwriters and folk artists.
About Roxanne de Bastion
To describe London-based singer-songwriter Roxanne de Bastion as a pioneering independent artist does little justice to the hefty list of accomplishments and accolades she’s assembled in her very busy life. Her entrepreneurial spirit has been evident since she moved from her native Berlin to London aged 19 to pursue a career in music. Over 600 shows later, after a self-released debut album (2017’s Heirlooms and Hearsay), tours with Lambchop, Katie Melua, Howard Jones and performances at Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk festival. 2021 saw the release of her second album You & Me, We Are The Same (produced by Bernard Butler) and a successful UK headline tour. Since then, Roxanne has written and published her debut book, The Piano Player of Budapest, to great critical acclaim (incl. Guardian Audiobook of the week, a launch show at The Royal ALbert Hall and features on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and ITV news) along with the accompanying album, Songs From The Piano Player of Budapest and has released a new EP, produced by Ed Harcourt.
