The Basement Sessions at Green Note is a brand new monthly night, filled with brilliant up-and-coming artists that you need to hear. Set in the intimate Basement space within this much-loved venue, you’ll hear the best of what the UK acoustic scene has to offer!

This month featuring…. Ösp Eldjárn + The 52s + Oktoba

Oktoba: Blending alternative folk, pop and americana together with honest story telling. Oktoba is the project of Brighton based solo singer-songwriter Chris Athorne.
“You’ll really enjoy it..it’s wonderful” BBC Radio 2, Bob Harris

The 52’s: The 52s are an acoustic/soul duo made up of 2 university students. Drawing influences from folk, soul and r&b they mix harmony filled vocals and laid back riffs. Highlights for them have been playing in buildings like the Holywell music room (Europe’s oldest music venue), busking around Oxford’s cafes and recording a live session in the middle of Hinksey park in Oxford.

Ösp Eldjárn: Hailing from North of Iceland to London, Ösp’s music reflects the folk song of her native country blended with the bustling songwriting culture of London and her love of jazz. She is joined by her friend and fellow Icelander, Helga Ragnarsdóttir, a singer and multi instrumentalist. The resulting music produces moments of stunning beauty, etherealness and delicacy.
